GL sub-accounts

Does anyone use sub accounts with their GL account numbers? If so, are you able to view the summary of the main account without showing the details of each sub-account? For example: if accounting unit 56789 has a GL account number 123456 and that main account has 3 different sub accounts, 123456-01, 123456-02, & 123456-03 and each sub account has a $10.00 entry, are you able to see that the main account (56789-123456) has a total of $30.00 without having access to the details of the sub-accounts?

Hi, Maybe I am over-simplifying this, but in the GL95.1 screen, once you put in the parameters, you can select the ACCOUNT button which gives the account total without showing Activity Codes, Accounting Units, etc.. Have you tried that?

enter the major account 123456 - 123456 and then in the subaccount boxes enter 1-999 then say OK and click the Totals button

The ACCOUNT button shows the individual sub-account totals instead of the overall total for the account, however, I do see that the TOTALS button rolls everything into one total if the sub-account range is added in the parameters. Thank you!
