We are trying to develop the scope of our implementation of Manager Self Service and we are hoping you can share what actions you allow Managers to make using Manager Self Service (MSS).

Also, how do you handle the additional paperwork that needs to be accompnay the request? For example, when we process a separation we require the timecard and resignation letter be sent over, how do you handle that if they make the request in MSS.

If you could share what actions you allow employees to make using ESS that would help as well.

We have almost everything opened up for employees and managers

1. For employees: time entry, benefits enrollment, life events, pay area including w-4 forms ,but not direct deposit, personal information, office info to change mail stop and add additional contact info, certifications, savings modeling, etc.
2. For managers: time entry approval, direct reports, personnel actions, employee dates, used to do job reqs until we changed to third party software.

also have custom modules to allow employees to do backup time entry and personnel actions for managers, as well as mgt reports for various things.

We have utilized Manager Self Service for about 14 years. Managers can view Employee Dates, Credentials and Direct Reports. On direct reports, they process Personnel Actions - most are pended for review by our HRIS team. The resignation letter is typically emailed to the HR Generalist for the area the employee works in. For our facility, this is not required to process the termination. If the Termination requires a resignation letter and timecard, you can have the term pended and could place on hold (PA58) until the resignation letter is received.
