Perpetual Inventory Surgical Area
Legacy Contributor
Is anyone currently running a perpetual inventory in their surgical areas using Infor? If so any information you can give to us would be a great help. If not what system do you use for a perpetual inventory
Thank you

Yes, we have been doing so since April 2013 when we implemented Lawson. Please call me at 360-417-7727 to discuss. Kathi

Yes...we've been doing so for years (and years!), receiving IC500 updates from HSM/MSM, and soon to be with Epic/OpTime. (We're on Lawson version 9.0.1)
Lots of difficulties in implementing a perpetual inventory in surgical services, especially if you receive your issue/credit signals via interface, e.g., lag between physical movement of supplies vs. update of Lawson SOH, your accuracy is largely based on the ability/willingness of clinicians to document supplies used/not used, high rate of returns for supplies not used in procedures, accuracy of resource maps/pick tickets, etc. To offset any/all of the above, you'll need an aggressive cycle counting program. And don't even think about turning on automated replenishment, unless your SOH is accurate and updated timely...
The above (I believe) are some of the biggest reasons that so few OR's have perpetual inventories...
