Hi all,
After some help and advice please!
We've recently installed Opera 3 SQL SE (our first site) and we're having some performance issues whereby sometimes forms take ages to open (2mins) and sometimes they open instantly. The issue occurs in demodata without any bespoke. We are testing on the server i.e. standalone install so network/firewall shouldn't be an issue. They are running software versions:-
- Opera 3 SQL SE v2.81.02
- Windows Server 2019 v1809 (build 17763.1369) with 16gb RAM installed.
- SQL Server 2019
Forms we've found to be slow to open sometimes are Special Prices and Customer/Supplier Options but we don't believe it to be limited to those areas, that's just where we've been testing. For example, open Special Prices from the SOP menu and the header form opens instantly. Click on Action > Details and this sometimes open instantly and other times can take up to 2 minutes to open in demodata!
We have checked the AV exclusions with the IT company and are now going to request it be removed/disabled from that server completely to try and rule it out. The server isn't in general use yet as it's only for SQL SE.
We've also attempted to complete some performance monitoring using Windows perfmon and the SQL Profiler. Perfmon doesn't really show much other than a spike in CPU when requesting the form be opened, however, it's not maxing out. Memory usage runs around 50% on the server. SQL Profiler showed us that SQL seems to be processing the request quickly when it receives it (as far as we can tell).
Does anyone has any suggestions on what we can look at to try and resolve this? Or any guidance on how to target Perfmon/SQL Profiler to look at these sorts of issues.
Thanks,
Alex
