Question about date range in Crystal Report

I have created a report in Crystal and have set it up as an LBI report. There is a parameter prompt that was created, however when I try to put in a date range that is not in the current or same year (2021) I get an error 'The value is not valid'. However when I enter the date range in the same year there is no issue and pulls data within the specified range. Does anyone know why this happens? Is there an option when setting up a Parameter Field in Crystal Reports that would allow multiple years?

Any guidance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

can you provide a few screen shots.....of what your experiencing ?

i created a sample crystal report which would list employees who are hired in a date range

in my parameter

i have it setup to allow a range

and my selection formula has

and if i put in 1/1/2020 to 4/12/2021 as the range....it comes back with data appropriately

why aren't you using the "between" function in Crystal? That works for me.

is there a way to set up the BETWEEN function as a PROMPT at runtime? That is what i did in Crystal is set up the runtime prompt so that the end user can enter in different date ranges.
