BSI11 upgrade issue

We've recently upgraded our development environment from BSI10 to 11.0.c. We ran payroll and found county and local taxes were not calculated. At that time BSI11.0.d and regulatory bulletin 49 were released. We went ahead upgrading dev to 11.0.d and loaded bulletin 49. We ran payroll again and this time no tax was calculated at all. We tested PRTF. When clicking "test TaxFactory US" the first time, got "error". Clicking again, got "ok". Has anyone experienced any issue after upgrading to 11.0.d? Thanks!

Have you turned on BSI debugging to see the communication between LSF and BSI?

You might try running through the following KB (even though they are a bit dated, the info still works):

KB 5426640 / 5422229 BSI Taxfactory 9 Install/upgrade validation and general troubleshooting

Be sure that msgmnt for category PRTFX has been updated (KB 5411832/2145347). Category 700 should be TF11 in your case.

Ensure that you have a valid machine codes for both you client and server machine installed in the BSI Database. This is accomplished via tf11lic -i keyfile.txt (KB 1213041)

Confirm that your license is valid: tf11lic -v

You could also try cycling Lawson and recompiling (cmptfxora11 or cmptfxsql11 depending on your database). And then compiling the Taxfactory Run Time system: cmpts

Did you get any error messages in ladb.log, latm.log or the security log?

We had the same thing happen to us - no taxable wages from PR140, and PRTF behaving oddly with ERROR and then OK. After talking to BSI support, they had us run tf11lic on Lawson. It returned errors consistently, unlike PRTF. I sent the output via a troubleshooting document BSI sent me. They said to reinstall the server side. So I downloaded it again, and reinstalled it. The program tf11lic runs without error and gives the correct output now, and also PRTF did not get ERROR the first time nor any time so far. I am waiting on Payroll staff to test again. It seems much more promising than before.

Zen, thank you for your feedback. Do you use Oracle 12c for your taxfactory database? We have an incident opened with lawson support. Was notified by lawson this morning that BSI support has rebuilt 11.0.d server software for oracle 12c. I downloaded and tested tf11lic from this new built, and it works! As you said, tf11lic from the old 11.0.d servers gave errors. We are still testing 11.0.c in our environment therefore I won't be able to know how this new 11.0.d works for the rest part. Hope your PR140 runs successfully. Have you upgraded BSI from 10 to 11.0.d or from 11.0.c to 11.0.d? We are also having issues with 11.0.c. we noticed that BSI 11c is not processing county and state taxes correctly for employee who was process under the pay code SCF. BSI10 will be decommissioned this Friday and we are being stuck here for a while!

Thanks. It appears the 11.0.d server software was corrupted and BSI support has just rebuilt it. We are waiting to fully test the rebuilt once installed in our environment.

Will this be released as TF11.0 E or as a quiet/unadvertised release (replace of current TF10.0d binaries)?
