Help with customizing a Navigation Widget URL is MgrAbsenceChart

We want to customize the AbsenceApproval form but it points to URL MgrAbsenceChart.  We found this in the mobile zip file under pages that links to the js folder mgrAbsenceChart.js.  Has anyone else customized this chart or any like it?  We are trying to make some changes but when we put them into test all of our landing pages revert to quick link pages.  Is there a document that anyone is aware of that we could review to help us with this or does anyone have any suggestions?  How can we customize and change one without affecting everything?

We found an answer to the pages getting changed; therefore, our next question, where can we find the code behind the request?

I am looking for documentation or something that would fill in the gaps so that we can find where to change an html chart that is offered thru GHR.  We need to customize it to meet our needs.  Below is what we know:

1) the Chart leads us to a form called AbsenceApproval

2) the form leads us to a URL

3) the URL leads us to the MobileZip file

4) Zip file leads us to an html page 

5) the html page leads us to a js document called mgrAbsenceChart.js

6) within the js - the below is what loads the data and what we need to change:

7) the gap is where do we find:  WB_AJAX.doSynchronousGet(timeOffPanelDataInfoRequest); so that we can copy it and make changes to work how we need it to work.
