Does anyone know if the header comments section in IC11 is a reportable "field"?

Comments are not stored in fields; they are stored in files. Knowledge Base articles such as 1188397 and 1191010 can help provide more information on how they are stored. Hopefully, this will help you with developing your reports.

L_HITE is the comment table for Item Master header comments. You can pull the data from these comment tables but it's not pretty. At least I have not found a good way to bring the data into a report without needing major adjusting. You can link the table to the ITEMMAST table via the index field.

I don't think that's possible. At least not in v10 or earlier. Maybe it's different in v11.
I agree, we were not able to develop anything easily and tabled it. it would be helpful when adding large product lines, to have that as a option. We will find out what the cloud has in store for us for this piece.
