Event Handler to Email when Blanket Purchase Order Release

I want to set up an event handler that will send an email notification to a group when a blanket purchase order release is filled. I have tried doing this using both IdoOnItemInsert and IdoPostItemInsert but neither seem to work. Has anyone done this? Anyone have some guidance?

I haven't yet, but I'll take a shot at it. I'm not an 'end user' of CSI so the Forms and business processes are beyond me. IS this on the "Purchase Orders Blanket Releases" form? What constitutes it being "filled"?

We have a Vendor Consignment Warehouse - so in this particular example, a PO Release gets filled when an Inventory Consignment from Warehouse Usage is done.

I was told by support that because a PO Release does not hit the IDO layer - but rather SQL via a Stored Procedure, an Event Handler cannot be created for this. Their suggestion was to edit the existing Stored Procedure via an Extgen and add the logic to send email. Has anyone done this? Anyone have some guidance?

create a custom event, it will look similar with what you already have created on IDO post; your new event would have parameters to load po blanket release; extgen the SP and post your custom event ; see example for posting event from SQL in the sp FireGenericNotifySp

I was able to get this working firing on SLPoitems on IDOPostItemUpdate. I am only firing an e-mail for POs generated from a requisition, but this is working for me.

IdoPostItemUpdate - SLPoItems

10 - Finish: CONDITION(P("ReqNum") = "NULL" AND P("Stat") <> "F")
RESULT("Cancel event")

20 - Notify: Your typical notify stuff here.

Is there a reason I would not want to use this event?
