App Builder - Open a second form

I'm learning App Builder. So far I like it.

Is there a way to open a second form? In this Use Case, I have a datagrid of rows. Is there a way for the user to click on a row and have another form open that contains the detail information for the row?

I see that the datagrid allows for inline editing of data. But sometimes, we have the need to open a separate form to allow for viewing more data than is shown in the datagrid.

App Builder is only capable of building singular composite forms and does not allow for calling of additional forms to appear.
If you require that level of interaction then I would suggest that you step up to using the full Infor Mongoose toolset, which is capable of more complex interactions.

Is there a way to handle this functionality with tabs? I'm wondering if we could have a hidden tab. And when the user clicks on a row in the grid.

1) The tab is unhidden. And that tab has focus.

2) The GUID of the row in the datagrid is passed to a service that reads the data.

3) The data from the service is moved to text box fields in the tab area.

Would something like that be possible?

Sorry to add another question. But is there a roadmap of what new features are being added to App Builder? I have also looked at Mongoose. I know we could learn it. But App Builder is super easy to learn. We have already used App Builder for some production apps. We haven't used Mongoose yet. Ideally, we will only use one tool for building apps. But App Builder may not be powerful enough. That's why I'm wanting to know the roadmap for when new features will be added to App Builder.

Another option. It appears the datagrid can have a URL Link field. So that URL Link could open up a second App Builder form. And the documentation shows that App Builder forms can accept input parameters.

Is that a viable option?

It is a potentially viable option. Worth a try and if it satisfies your requirements then by all means.

As for Roadmap we are not adding a alot of functionality to App Builder as we do provide Mongoose for more complex scenarios.
