XRL report

I have a client who wants a report giving the BOM Assembly and the total component costs. It is not stored in a field so I'm creating a Designer Report in XRL.
I can get the information he needs as a Group/Outline, and i just ignore the detail lines.
However, when i ran the report on their full data- it is taking ages....actually I started it 50 mins ago and I'm at row 89,000 and still going.
Is there any way i can get the subtotal info without the detail? I needed to use a formula field to get the component cost, to then subtotal this on change of Assembly so a Summary Report won't work.

Have you tried using a Summary Link or Summary Report?

Yes, but a Summary Report has to be on an existing value field, and the total component cost is not an existing field. It is ComponentCost x Quantity.
If i put in a formula only, it did not summary total on it.

Yes, the subtotalling bug has been in XRL for years & Pegasus/Infor refuse to fix it. We'd use Crystal Reports.

Thanks for the feedback. My XRL is giving me the Assemble cost and not the Component Cost, so I'm now trying to amend the Cost Report to be _XLS. 112,000 assembly lines over 11,500 BOM's.
