Item Availability for Product Structures...any better way?

Good Morning!

We have used Product Structures to hold a list of Items (Bill of Materials) that we'd like to share with Customer when they call.

These are Items that are complementary or "go with" the the Item that they are calling about...

So when a Customer calls in for a particular Item, the Agent does a "PDS110 - Where Used" and may find a Product Structure setup with complementary Items. And then do a "PDS002 - Product Structure Detail" or "PDS100 - Indented Bill of Material" on that Product Structure to see all the complementary items.

I was thinking it would be nice if they could also quickly see if we have any availability on those Items. Of course they could go line by line checking MMS081, but I was looking for something more summarized.

One thing to note, we are never going to build these Product Structures, so there isn't going to be an Planned / Released MO to look at from a "material status" perspective.

I stumbled across MMS085 - "Availability Simulate for Material", which I am hoping will show me a summary of material availability for the product structure. But I still need to do some testing.

Is anyone aware of another program that will give me Item Availability across a Product Structure?

On another note...is anybody doing something similar; grouping Items together for "cross-sell / up-sell" opportunities? And are you doing it differently that using Product Structures?

Have you looked at utilizing MMS020 - Type 7 or 9 - to connect Items that could/should be recommended as well when selling a specific Item?

Also, I recommend that you build out your own API (Query) using CMS010 / CMS015 and then utilize App Builder to create a Sales Dashboard to make it easily visible to your Customer Service personal (this you can do with your current solution as well).
This should allow you to see all related Items with the availability from one single panel, assuming of course you design your API(s) and App Builder Dashboard correctly.
