Driving myself crazy! Trying to understand an Item Relationship (MMS020) / Order Entry problem.

Good Evening All and Happy Weekend!

Trying to understand an issue with Order Entry and Related Items,

We have an Item Relationship (MMS020) created between Item 10041531 and Item 10040596

It is a Relationship Type 4 (The Item Number is fully interchangeable with the other item number without any technical restrictions)

Item 10041531 is set at Status 80 (Item no longer stocked)

Item 10040596 is set at Status 20 (Item Released)

When entering an Order for Item 10041531, we get an Alert Message.

The Message says:

"Item 10041531 is consumed and is no longer in stock. No valid replacement item is found."

First part of the message makes sense because the Item isn't stocked anymore. Yeah!

But the second part of the message I'm having trouble running down. No valid replacement? I've got a relationship setup in MMS020 pointing to a fully interchangeable part.

Everything feels / looks setup correctly, but I've got to be missing something.

(FYI I did try and changing the Relationship Type to 2 (The item has been replaced...) but got the same result)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated?

I've found a couple of KB articles that could be interesting for this case:

KB 2022465 -Replacement type 3 and 4 in MMS020

KB 1218362 - OIS100: Reasons for message 'Item xxxx is consumed and is no longer in stock. No valid replacement item is found'

According to that, it seems replacement 2 is better intended than 4 for customer orders. I don't know why replacement 2 does not work at this point. Please enter an incident at Infor Support Portal for further help!
