Can I grant access to a 3rd Party company to read directly from our EAM?

Hello,

We have a vendor that would like to use an API to connect to our EAM to pull data from R5OBJECTS and R5PARTS. Is that possible? Should we allow them to access our data directly?

Our EAM is SaaS MT. How can I place any sort of restrictions to what they can pull?

I looked at our Infor IONAPI for Infor EAM and there is nothing for GET under "EAM API Services" nor "EAM API with Swagger documentation". I only see a POST for Swagger doc.

What should be the correct way to let a vendor extract data from our equipment and parts table?

Hey there, RST -

EAM supports publishing data to the Data Lake where you have a suite of tools to explore the data with Compass SQL. See EAM's documentation on data replication. In this scenario, I would recommend ETLing data from the Data Lake to a data warehouse for specific content to limit access to the vendor.

I recommend you look into EAM's Web Service API. You can call it through ION API. The default request and response formats are XML, but you can use endpoint request/response policies to convert to JSON.

Specifically, look into the EAM GRID Request API's. To use these you need an EAM Connector license. You would create a user and grant them access to specific EAM grids. You create the grids and that is the only data they can access in EAM.
