Automatically accept the ATP Date. Order Type setting?

Good Morning!

Currently, for a particular Customer Order Type in M3, when an order quantity is entered and there is a material shortage, the ATP is presented and the Sales Person must acknowledge the shortage and confirm the delivery date before the Order Line is saved to the Order.

(And if you look at the Order, you can see the Confirmed Delivery Date is indeed respectful of the material Lead Time)

That’s not exactly the behavior we are looking for…

What we’d like to happen is for the ATP proposal (and it’s confirmed delivery date) to be accepted automatically, without the extra step of “confirming the delivery date.

Said another way: How do we configure the Order Type to automatically accept the latest ATP date as the delivery date?

Hi Steve

We set up a supply model only for this purpose. If you allow backorders and you tick the auto option in the supply model, you do not have to confirm a material shortage at the requested delivery date. 

There is a catch: the supply model is only checked at order entry. If you do a mass update of order lines (OIS260) and there is a shortage, then you have to confirm the lines one by one. See enhancement request 72873.
