Has anyone integrated with Amazon Business?

Amazon Business is telling us that they cannot use GHX EDI but that "many" customers are happy with the work around that is available using punchouts. When we look for documentation about how to do this, it looks like punchouts will create a cXML PO and therefore will not allow for automated acknowledgements, ASNs, or Invoices. I cannot for the life of me imagine that this is a reasonable set up, so I am guessing I am missing something.

Has anyone figured out how to do this?

Children's Mercy Kansas City recently implemented punchout with Amazon business, utilizing the cXML connection for inbound/outbound EDI documents. However just as important as the connectivity, we are struggling a bit with Amazon from a product control perspective, they control what's available via UNSPSC code and have run into some questionable data that is making it more difficult to maintain the controls. Also struggling a bit to consistently get 3rd party Amazon partners to always include PO # information on packing slips at time of receipt.

HI Jack. Have you spoken with Amazon about transacting directly with them via EDI? they can accept the 850 and do provide an acknowledgement, ASN, and invoice directly back to you.

As Bob mentioned, we (Children's Mercy of KC) have recently turned on Punchout with Amazon Business. And his points are valid in things we are facing at this time. But I'll provide a few more details specifically around transactions, and how that aligns to your inquiry.

We do create a cXML PO that is directly sent to Amazon. So correct, we don't leverage GHX for this connection. As standard practice with Amazon, once a PO is created from a Req and sent over to Amazon, they will send back an email confirmation of the order. We asked if an EDI 855 can be provided as well, which they were able to accommodate. So we do get EDI 855's back, along with the email confirmation (email confirmation will happen with or without the 855). We also receive EDI 810 invoices back, directly from them. So although your PO would go cXML, you can still get EDI 855's (POA's) and EDI 810's (Invoices) back into your system. And that may be possible with the 856's as well...however, we did not set that transaction up in our system.
