We have a 457b plan for our highly compensated employees. We've always just handled it as deductions through PR14/PR15 rather than setting up a full benefit plan. As we have continued to grow, we would like to now set it up as a benefit plan to make it a little easier to manage. I thought I had all the settings I needed but I haven't been able to create the plan. I am setting up the plan using the same deduction codes we have now but I keep getting an error of "DC deduction class must = company dc deduction class." Does anyone know what that means? We currently have the deduction code in the DFC deduction class which is for deferred comp plans and the tax status is 22 for 457b tax exempt entity. Payroll tried changing the deduction class to DC for defined contributions which allowed me to create the plan but then caused problems on payroll for our 401k plan which is also in the DC class. Appreciate any insight anyone can provide! Thanks!
