Refreshing oauth token with ION APIs using python

Currently we are connecting into infor ION APIs with python code and now we are looking to understand the proper way to request an oauth token request using infor APIs in python. As the token expires 2 hours our service call fails with an unauthorized error message.

Sample code for token management is available in our github although I am afriad, a Python variant is not (yet) available. https://github.com/infor-cloud/ion-api-sdk/blob/master/README.md

Have a look at the .NET or Java examples as Vignesh advised or check the examples created for the PowerShell demo i made, that may help to understand. https://github.com/cjrentier/ION-API-viaPowerShell i am planning to create an automatic refresh option in the functions but that is for next year.

We are making a direct call to MINGLE get user detail service "">mingle35-ionapi.inforgov.com/.../Detail" as an authorized web application. We have the api call working in both postman and python and as mentioned we are looking for api calls required to refresh the token as the initial token issues expires every 2 hours.

Diagram in link provided (https://docs.infor.com/ionapi/2021-x/en-us/ionapiag_cloud/default.html?helpcontent=fqj1489507806672.html) is nice but we are looking for the specific APIs and workflow involved in refreshing a token. My apologies if its there and im not seeing it.

The url you shared above is for getting the users details and you are passing the token as a parameter. The token should be in the header 'Authorization' and prefixed with "Bearer " ... it looks like this in Postman:

That particular api doesn't require any parameters: the results are based "in context" of the authenticated user (in this case the user associated in saak / sask in your authorized app). To see what the call shoulod look like, what should be sent, try using the swagger in ION API Gateway to get the curl:

Note: your url is a little different because you are using IGS (InforGov) and in a different tenant. Just give the 'try it out' a whirl and examine the provided curl:

Thank you David, i follow along with what you are saying. Get user detail API is just an example to demonstrate that i have connectivity "working" but the token is timing out. The posting here is to understand the API calls involved in creating and refreshing a token in python. thank you
