Excel Integration options

I have had a good play with Excel integration this morning.

Suggestions for ease of use, if possible,

Can we have an option to create a write back formula in the ad-hoc report and can the recalculation of the ad-hoc slice be included in the workbook recalculation.

thanks for the feedback.

Having write-back enabled ad-hoc (i.e. instead of INFOR.READ.SLICE having INFOR.GET.SLICE) is in the backlog however I cannot share any timeline as of now.

As for the recalculation - it is not that clear to me but if I got it right you mean the workbook recalculation initiated by Excel (F9 and ribbon button), right? If so this is tricky. We can mark it as 'volatile' and then it will work as you wish however there will be many unwanted consequences like e.g. anytime the sheet is being re-rendered (applying format, resizing column) the calculation will be triggered. We had all the value formulas as volatile in the past and it turned out to be bad user experience.

Can you please share your use case why it is important/needed?

I guess this is a question to CSD community/Product Management In general, Excel Integration currently supports only d/EPM cubes as a data source, however our roadmap to have other sources as well.

Still, CSD might have a separate Excel client, that's where I, unfortunately, can't help.

Hi Benjamin, I took a look for you and I think the current option for CSD is to use F9. Take a look at the documentation here: https://docs.infor.com/sxe/2022.x/en-us/sxolh/default.html?helpcontent=tyl1503926151350.html

Since F9 has a somewhat narrow use case, you might find it worthwhile to set up d/EPM to build out your financial reporting and give the users more tools. It's quite common to see Cloudsuite customers set up d/EPM for financial reporting, transaction detail analysis, variance analysis, financial KPIs, etc. Your CSD data can be brought into d/EPM via the Data Lake and you can set up data models, collect/report additional data that might not already be in CSD, and you can give users Self Service ad hoc tools and the Excel Add In. I would be glad to give you more use case examples if you are curious. You might check to see if you already are licensed for it as some folks purchase dEPM when they purchase the CSD licenses.
