Development locally in VS

We are in the implementation phase of CSI SyteLine in the cloud. Trying to onboard coding as quickly as possible, taking classes at Infor Campus, reading this forum, reading manuals that I can find, and YouTube videos.

I wish to develop using VS to take advantage of the IntelliSense.

The videos show an Infor/Mongoose directory on the local desktop. That directory doesn't exist for us since we are in the cloud.

Are the Dlls available somewhere that can be downloaded?

The unassembled code will be put in SyteLine via the IDO Extension Class Assemblies. If there is a way to add compiled code, I still need to figure that out.

We're in a similar state, and here's what I can tell you. You can get most stuff from the SDK (KB 2146483) including the core libraries. And you add your compiled code to IDO Extension Class Assemblies form. You click the button for Import Assembly and Import Symbols and drag the respective file onto the pop-up window for each.

There is a new option in the designer that allows you to download the code into Visual Studio.

When you goto edit the script select Download from the list:

This will download the script code as well as the supporting libraries into a zip file.

Then unzip the file and open the folder it creates. Then you can open the .sln file in VS.

You can now edit the script with full Intellisense:

Once you are done editing, you then copy the text and paste it into the editing window in the WebClient.

I know this is a bit cumbersome, but it does simplify the process of collecting the libraries etc. Microsoft has just not provided a way to edit with intellisense in the webclient.

Thanks. I finally found a moment to try this and all worked fine.

However, we code in C# and the Imports I need from Mongoose are related to IDO Extension Class Assemblies.

Looking at the imports from the VB Form Script there is only Mongoose.Scripting. I suspect that this single import does not comprise of all that is needed?

No imports are necessary for the assemblies as they are referenced by the IDOs. So in order to invoke a method the easiest way is to attach it to a method call event. In that event you can connect all the input and output parms and then execute that from an event or script.

Assemblies, I would need to have my local environment behave as it would in CSI?

Without the imports being available locally, I wouldn't benefit from writing code locally.

I do see from Antonio's post above that the KB webpage contains the SKD which I have downloaded.

Possibly I am just thinking incorrectly when writing for CSI in the cloud compared to writing code traditionally. No question I have so much to learn and time is not my ally.
