LMS vs Learning & Development

I was given Learning & Development to work with. We will be transitioning from an outside LMS to Infor's Learning & Development. I was told Infor LMS and Infor Learning & Development is the same thing and I was also told they are not the same thing. Could anyone clarify this for me?

I have been playing around in our training environment in Learning & Development within GHR and I am not seeing where I can build in tests and question banks. Does anyone have experience with this?

Infor has 2 products. There is a stand-alone LMS which has to be interfaced to any Talent Management system. There is an L&D module within Talent Management and it includes LMS functionality.

Do you know what the difference is? Or do you have experience with either product by chance? I am wondering if the L&D module has the full functionality of the LMS.

It was my understanding that the standalone LMS has been moved into GHR. I would think that includes the full functionality of the LMS.

Do you know how to build tests/questions in? I found the steps in a guide, but the options are not appearing. I came across a thread that mentioned content creator. Do you have any experience with this?

Bruce - My company has the stand alone LMS product and have been using it for 3 years now. It is a fully functioning LMS product that has content creator, etc. I have also been following the development of the L&D module within Infor's Talent product. It is not as robust as the stand alone LMS product. However they are continually tweaking it and modifying it to get it to that point. I would recommend that you further discuss with your Customer Service Mgr all of the aspects that it offers. I have not had any experience with the L&D module, so I can't help you with how to work within that system. Your CSM should be able to get someone who has that experience though within Infor.

Yes, the CSM can get a differences presentation sent over. The net differences actually show more functionality in L&D overall, but it doesn't have content creation (as noted) because more and more third-party content is used, but a lot of new integrations exist with different tools and platforms via L&D and worth a review.

The testing function within L&D is set to be included in the platform in Q2 of this year. All of the finalized release notes and details will be available as soon as it's released.
