9.0.1.13 environment--- Security Server not starting
aessapoor
We have been experiencing instances where the 9.0.1.13 security server/ lase will not come up on a startlaw.
Anyone else seeing this?

Sorry can not help we are on 9.0.1.12 environment and had no issue but check permission on directories

Permissions, maybe, but I would check the JVM heap size. In the file $GENDIR/java/comman/lsserver.properties there is an option to set the heap size. You should have:
ljx.vm.options=-Xmx2048m
I don't know about the 9.0.1.13 docs, but when I upgraded to 9.0.1.12 and read the requirement to change this setting I noticed it was missing the "m" at the end. If there is no "m" the limit is 2048 bytes. You want it to say 2048 megabytes or 2 gigabytes. If the heap size is too small, lase can't start because it doesn't have enough memory.

We've been seeing that for quite some time now. We're only on 9.0.1.12 as well... but what we've been doing before a startlaw
1) startlase
when that comes up
2) stoplase
when that goes down
3) startlaw
Seems to get us by all of the issues with lase starting.

Be careful with that because patches that patch security will overwrite the lsserver.properties file and cause huge performance issues... It has happened to me.

Brandt, lately we upgraded our dev environment to 9.0.1.13 and experienced the same issue as you had. Most of the time startlaw started lase successfully. However occasionally lase failed to start. Have you already got this resolved? Thank you.

We have not gotten a resolution on the general startlase timeout yet.... however we did get a fix for when this occurs during a patch install.
We changed the "sleep" setting in the $GENDIR/install/install-sec.pl from 10 seconds to 60 seconds.

Brandt, thanks for the swift response. Which patch gave you the fix? So that patch changed the sleep setting in the install-sec.pl script? Thanks.

I think I misinterpreted your reply. I opened a ticket with lawson but haven't got any constructive recommendation yet. Thanks!

Hello, I am seeing where you posted issues with 9.0.1.13 as related to security. How were those issues resolved?
