Base rate of pay excluding Education and Cert Pay

HR needs to break out the extra types of pay that are imbedded in the Base Pay Hourly Rate in Lawson. We want to take out the Education, Cert Pay and any other types of pay built in there, so the rate can be pure.

However, the other rates should still be included as part of the overtime and flsa calculations for the team members.

We have a similar issue. Would love to hear if anyone has a solution.

You could create separate pay codes (PR20.4) for those other types of pay. Then, you would flag how they should be treated in the OT calculation when you set up the Pay Summary Groups on PR20.2. For example, you would probably want the dollar amount to be included in the OT calc [OT Pay=Y], but would want the hours excluded in the OT calc [OT Hrs=N] (as those hours were already included in the OT calc when the Regular Pay was posted).

Currently these amounts are included in all pay, except when calculating merit. So all pay (worked, Paid Time Off, Holiday) are all calculated with this additional amount. Example; Nurse A is certified in the OR ($1) and has an MSN ($2). If her regular rate is $22, her base rate in Lawson would be $25. All of her pay would be paid at the $25 rate, except her merit increase would be based off of the $22. HR want to see her Base Rate in Lawson display at $22, and have all her wages paid at the $25 rate.

gkull45 - That is exactly our issue as well.

Does anyone else have this issue, and do you have a solution???

We do what was described by Turner. Things like Cert and Education are paid under separated pay codes. They are added to the time record via Kronos pay rules. So for example we have rules set up in Kronos for Cert where a designated amount of time is added to everyone in that rule. Same thing for Education, etc.
