Hello,
We run Lawson on AIX and are interested to see if anyone has sucessfully moved/replicated their TDS instance from one server to another. Maybe from a Production server to a test server
thanks

I exported the data from a 6.2 instance to a 6.3 instance. You just have to grab the lawson schema files as well which are in the ldap instance location/idsslapd-/etc directory. I think it's the V3.modifiedschema file. There may be an easier way, but that worked for me.

Okay, was the 6.3 instance name the same and on the same server or different server?

This last time it was a different LDAP server name, but on the same physical machine. I've done it before using the same method and moving it to a different server. The export just creates a file that you can then move to your other server. I did it all through the idsxinst utility. Just make sure you know your salt/seed values. I think when you create the new instance you have to use the same values.

We do this on a regular basis from our production server to our test servers. Like Jeremy said, your salt/seed values MUST be the same when you create each TDS instance. Your services should also be named the same (for each instance).
We use the TDS backup/restore to load data to the test server. We then modify server specific data on the test server (server names and endpoints) and recreate the ldap bind.

Does anyone do this using Windows Active Directory (ADLDS)?
I would love to know the steps to do this as it would save so much time.
