Org Chart Generation

Hi all from NZ. Has anyone has any success in personalising/customising the inbuilt organisation chart functionality? The default populates details that are not very user friendly, and we want to be able to edit this to display details such as the employee name, location, department etc. Enquires to Infor in the past have advised that this isn't possible, however wondered if this clever group had a work around? Currently we are generating our org charts by exporting work assignment data and create these using Org Plus, which is time consuming and very manual.

We have an Enhancement Request (#71648) for this same issue. We would love additional endorsements - here is what we submitted:

Organization chart is configurable only via settings on the Organization that allow view to be set with a small handful of preselected fields. There are additional fields that would be useful to add to the organization chart view, and we would like to be able to add fields to this list or customize the view via personalizations.

Beyond the preselected fields in the application setup side I am pretty sure you can configure the CardView used on that OrgChartView. I believe that there was a max lines limit (maybe up to 3) in the past. On a phone now but can do some research.

What exactly do you want displayed and I could try it for you.

Ok so it's the CardView named SupervisorChartCardView on SupervisorChart. It is configurable. You get only up to three lines. You'll need Name so you really only get two more lines.

Note that out of the box you can setup those two lines (not config console) this way:

If you can resolve this for us, you will officially be a hero. I've edited the LPL but get an error:

"SupervisorChart" (line 6, column 18) : Error : Component is unexpected in this context.

Couple of things here... You are trying to define CardLine1 and CardLine2 but they are already defined by Infor within the SupervisorChart. If you truly need a new field with new logic you would need to create a new user defined field and put the necessary logic within that field definition.

However, as the Dr. said above you can use the Infor functionality to accomplish adding Position and Org unit using the SupervisorChartField setup/configuration. To access, you can go to your Organization Setup and look for the "Configure Organization Chart" tab. There you can configure Display Order 1 and 2.

If this does not serve purpose, as first stated you'll need to use custom/user defined fields, add your specific definition/outputs to those fields and then modify SupervisorChartCardView to just include those new fields.

Hey, way to dig in yourself and get it done! I was thinking that the card could be wider and there should be tooltips when the Name or Position is too long to see everything.

How does your stuff look overall do you think?
