MIgrating Existing WU data
Legacy Contributor
We are preparing to go live from v9 on-premise to v10 hosted (PFI to IPA) and are trying to determine what to do with existing WU's.
We have Job Requisitions, Personnel Actions, and Supply requisitions to consider.
The PA's don't present a large problem they can be recreated somewhat easily as there are not that many.
We have hundreds of Job Requisitions and Supply Requisitions however, and the data will be copied over so the requisitions will be there but no associated WU information OR if we do copy the WU information over, we are seeing it is handled much differently in v10 with IPA, particularly that there are multiple WU's created. (One for the LSF side and one in IPA-Landmark???)
Any suggestions or advice?

Hi darringt - I think the most effective solution would be for the in-process workunits to be manually/force completed before your conversion. This may not be particularly popular, but it is the best way to ensure that everything is complete and "clean" prior to your conversion. You could even try setting a "blackout" period prior to your conversion where new requests don't get submitted, so as many of them can be completed as possible using the normal process.
I would hope that your organization recognizes that this is a major upgrade and is willing to modify the normal process for this one-time event. I don't see any other option that isn't going to cause problems.
Maybe someone else has ideas?
Good luck!
