Auto Sub Inventory Items - Setup in Secondary Inventories

Hey Everyone,

With all the backorders we have been using auto sub pretty frequently.  It has been a very useful tool.

When we turn on auto sub for our main inventory location we have item A stocked and item B stocked.  For the secondary inventory locations they have item A stocked, but not item B.  So when we turn on auto sub we have to add item B to the secondary inventory location.  Then when the auto sub is turned off we have to remove item B from inventory.

This takes up extra time for our inventory teams to do this.  Would be great if there was a way we could just have item B feed into the Item A item location, so it is truly "auto".

Does anyone have a process that speeds this up, or a workaround?  At this point I am thinking it is a system limitation.

Ben - we have the similar situation with a much smaller inventory at our smaller acute care hospital / inventory. We also have location rules turned on for the requesters at the smaller hospital to be able to requisition items stocked at the larger inventory in the most straight forward manner. I believe the July CU is targeted to resolve issues for Location rules and associated items. Right now we leave the associated item there but change the dates for the Associated item for that inventory location so they are not active.
