BSI Payment overrides - Mass add
sriman-shivakoti
We are instituting an HSA thi year and have set up the deduction codes with tax types 20 and 21. The limits are being applied correctly. I have moved to setting up the payment overrides for those over 55. It works well but now I need to know how to automatically load all the crazy PA locals. Is there a way to import a file? How do I find the specs?
Thanks for your help.

I am also interesting in learning how to do mass updates within TaxFactory. Any information or direction is appreciated.

I opened a support ticket (Ticket number 00056092) with BSI and this was their response. I received this yesterday as we are in the same painful setup for the HSA over 55 process.
"There is no way to add the plans in an 'automated or mass upload' process at this time."

On another note.. How are your company contribution deduction codes setup? I am looking for the company to seed 1/2 upfront and the remaining contribution be allocated each pay period for the rest of the year. Any suggestions on setup would be appreciated!

Did they tell you how to enter an enhancement?

No and I did not ask. The rep was Victoria Purnell if you want to inquire.

We have a company deduction not tied to the benefit plan because we are front loading right now. The company deduction has the proper HSA tax type associated with it. If we were then going to go to pay period deductions, I may consider tying a new code to the benefit plan. Haven't thought that far. Just trying to get through each day with HSA and ACA.

I did send BSI an enhancement email request.

Another year has passed and it is time to update our hundreds of overrides in BSI. Does anyone have any shortcuts they can share on how you get it done quickly? I thought I had an option by searching on the authority type but after update, I had to start over. Each time I update one, I am taken back to the beginning and have to start the search all over again. I am hoping someone has a way to make it quicker.
Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Our company has the same issue and we were thinking about using the Custom Backup/Restore feature in BSI Tax Factory which creates a xml file with the Backup feature, update the xml file with the new year changes with Notepad and then upload back into BSI with the Restore feature.
Anyone try this?
Thanks

I thought about that. Let me know if you try it and the steps you take.

If you completed a enhancement request for being able to load information into BSI, I would vote for it. We have to manually enter in all our payment overrides at the beginning of the year for 401k catch up amounts. Plus it would be good if they created a way to upload the unemployment and optional rate overrides

Ditto! I don't have locals, but I do have multiple states, so I would vote for it too!

I just completed the ER request. It is 29429.
Please vote and encourage your friends as well.
Thank you for your support.
Greg,
I had a discussion with BSI about my specific issue with the payment overrides. As part of that discussion, BSI indicated that they did have a more automated way to maintain unemployment rate overrides. I would suggest you contact them and find out about it.

Endorsement vote done! And thanks for the tip about unemployment overrides. I'll put it on my list to call BSI for that.
