We are in the process of configuring substitute items for our inventory items that are consistently being backordered. However, we ran into an issue where the ability to see subs on the requisition does not apply to the search functionality within the templates, but only using the higher level "Search Catalog" functionality. For business reasons we've restricted the use of the broader catalog search, but would still like to have the ability to have our requisitioners see substitute items when using their templates. Therefore, we've submitted an enhancement request allowing the identification of substitute items in the template search. Pease check out our ER using the following link:
