Since we can only be 2 to 3 versions behind on the APK files for the Auto Update feature to work I was wondering what others are doing to make sure you are on the most current version of the APK files. We currently have our end users do the Auto Update on the handhelds after the 3rd Saturday CU but I've ran across 2 handhelds this last week that the end users has not updated the handhelds since last February so we couldn't utilize Auto Update and had to use SOTI to push out the new APK files on them two devices.
Are others using SOTI to push out the updated version of APK files to the handhelds every month and not using Auto Update features? If so how is that process working? We have over 100 devices that we need to manage and looking for the best solution. I'm pretty sure it will be SOTI and we will need to ask for about an hour downtime every month to get the devices updated because the end users can't be on the device while the APK files are being updated.
Also, is anyone using the Android TC52X devices? I heard the Auto Update does not work on these devices and the only options to update the APK files is via SOTI with a file sync. We have a couple of 52x devices that are not being so I will be testing the auto update function with the upcoming CU.
Thanks
