unknown
Could someone please help me with an extended query? I need to add the original order date (customer order entry order date) to the Production Schedule Report - Shop Resource Dispatch Report.
Thank you!!!

Terri,
[at least for us] if you view the report, there is a file name up at teh top left of the screen. That is the "format" file that is being used by the system to generate and print the report. Ours is "BMSCHRP1.QRP" we change this using GUPTA. You can add, deleted, and move fields around. Is this what you are looking for?
Just curious as to why you are looking to add the data.

I know how to use Report Builder to edit the format - I do that all the time. But I can't see where the original order date appears in the list of available fields to be used for this report.
We don't use the scheduler in the traditional way. (We don't use anything in the traditional way...) We don't actually make anything - we are a processor. We receive customer's parts, chrome or nickel plate them, then send them back. The plating process is an inexact science, so we can't really use run times for processes. We schedule using "tank time", when the part is in the tank. On a humid day, it could take 3 or 4 hours longer to plate the same part vs. on a dry day and it could take 2 hours in tank 9 but 4 hours in tank 6. So we create schedules on a shift-by-shift basis using a marker board.
In order to create this schedule, the GM uses the Dispatch report to see what's here, when it got here, when it's due and what the status is. Right now, I'm manually writing in the receiving date. This allows him to prioritize items with a specific need date first, then for ones that don't have a specific need date, it's FIFO.
Does that help?

Terri,
Would have to go look myself for the proper field. Maybe it could be avoided if the want dates on the work orders were set to the promise date / specific need date and then run them in want date order? Simplistic view I know.

The desired_want_date is an available field in that report and seems more pertinent than the order date. Terri if your boss can agree to that it's an easy solution. Writing an extended query takes some time and practice; I believe Infor has some helpful How To documents for how to do it.

We already use the Desired Want Date as our "need" date. He wants to see "received date" and "need date".
I've tried the How To docs on extended queries and I feel like I'm reading Latin. lol.
Thank you all for the input!!
