Cell Phone Tracking

Is anyone tracking equipment that is checked out to employees (like cell phones) in Lawson or an other systems? We are truggling with identifying who has that equipoment when they transfer or leave the organization.

Megan,
You can track property on PA16. You setup your various properties (which are HR codes) then track on PA16. Fairly simple to use. There is also a simplistic listing report PA216 which you can run by property type. Hope this helps.

Additional Note: You can assign values to the property to help recover loss. We already assign dollar values for payroll purposes, and hope to someday in the future have an automatic flow to payroll to set up the deduction on a final check when something is not returned.

We developed a copy of the PA16 screen to remove SSN and make it fit our needs to that non-HR associates could update it. We developed a process that starts with PA52 and a termination action being entered there which goes through a user exit and triggers a ProcessFlow. Within the ProcessFlow we send out specific emails to notify our help desk for removal of credentials to systems, send email if they had property like phones to recover or stop the phone contract, and to treasury as we also track corporate credit cards and other associate issued cards or treasury access to bank accounts. Before this process, they had to check everyone for these types of company property, now they get timely and specific updates that they know they have to act on. Hope this helps. The keys here are the PA16 screen, the PA52 user exit, creating a trigger, and creating a ProcessFlow.
