Uploading Journal Entries via MS Addins
unknown
Does anyone out there upload your detail transactions for the JE using MS Addins. If yes, would you be willing to share your .uwf?

we upload to both the GL40 and the GL70. I have spreadsheet templates and Wizard uploads for both that I can share. Please let me know your email address and I will send them to you.

We upload to the GL65 form and run a gl165 to edit the entry before it goes to the GLtrans table

We interface files from other system through the GL65/GL165 method. For our finance people, we have an Excel workbook that allows them to enter journal entries and upload them directly to Lawson. The process creates the Journal Header on GL40.2 and loads the details on GL40.1. They are able to save the workbooks to use each month for similar uploads where they only need to change the dollar amounts each month. I know there used to be quite a few various versions of this application out in the community being used by many Lawson customers.

What my end user is trying to do is enter multiple JEs for various Base Zones. We have multiple Base Zones and when we use IMDB to import information into Lawson it assumes only one default Base Zone. However because we have to apply JEs to various Base Zones the IMDB functionality doesn’t work for us. Do you have an easy way to do that? (I, myself, work in IT and am not very knowledgeable in the GL screens so hopefully this isn’t a silly question. :0) Any help you can lend us would be appreciated.

I have never worked with Base Zones before but what I think you would need to do is have the user create the Journal Headers manually for each Base Zone on GL40.2 and then enter the specific journal number that corresponds to the correct Base Zone on the transaction record so that when you do your import it applies the transaction to the proper journal.

I realize this is an old posting. Can you share your GL70 template?
