ESS Benefit Enrollment

I have two employee groups set up on my benefit plans...FT/PT Benefit Elig and ACA Benefit Elig. As the employee moves from one group to the other, the BN100 stops and restarts benefits.

When an employee moves to a FT/PT benefit eligible status, they are eligible for additional benefits and I would like for them to use ESS to make those elections. However, because they already have elections on the BN32, the error message pops up stating 'You cannot makes changes to your benefits online. You already have current benefit elections. Contact the benefits department to make changes.'

Is anyone else experiencing this and do you have a solution you're willing to share?

I really don't want to do paper enrollments...I'm hoping there's a work around.

We are a new client in the middle of testing with an April implementation.
I'm in IT but was part of a meeting the other day with our consultant and benefits team.. they were asking this same question...on status changes and the fact our benefits team have to do it instead of the ability to instruct the employee to go to ESS to do it.
So... I'm anxiously awaiting replies you get on this as well
From my understanding right now.. only Open Enrollment, New Hire and Life Events can be done on ESS...so any status change has to be done by Benefits staff.. .which is not cool.. more work for them instead of LESS like we thought when purchasing this product
