AR300 - AR301 AR purge process
Legacy Contributor
We are looking to run the AR300 and AR301 programs within our company for the first time. Starting system testing and were wondering if others have ran the programs and what the experience was? Good, issue, ????????

We do execute the AR300 Transaction Purge process and have not ever had an issue.
I would strongly recommending executing this in your test environment and have your business involved with reviewing the test results.
Further, have the business approve to execute the process in production.
Take a backup of your data bases
Execute AR300 process
Save off the AR300 pdf print file
Save the output work files in a unique archive/purge directory
You may reference the Lawson Enterprise Applications Purge Programs Reference Guide for more information.

Stacie,
Thanks for the reply, glad to hear that you have had no problems. Also very good advice on the back ups/csv purge files and .prt. If you have time for a couple more questions I would appreciate understanding your process in a little more:
Do you run the AR301?
What is your schedule for running the AR300 (and 301 if applicable) i.e. annually to purge data more that 3 years old.....
What parameters do you use for AR300 ( I know that if you limit the purge transactions by populating the customers tab, then payments need to be ran separately and with no limitation other than date).
In our approach we do not want to remove information on active customers, so we will run AR300 2 times. 1 with just payments populating only the Payments - post cut off date and nothing on the customer tab. Then again populating all the other -post cut off date parameter leaving the Payments - post cut off blank and then on the customer tab populating a major / minor class of purge (we did a AR10 upload and change our inactive customers major / minor class = purge) to limit the transaction purge. Just curious if you do something similar or if you are only purging all trans more that x years old?
Thank you.

We do not execute the AR301 Customer Purge - this is due to the type of business we deal in - have a custom program created to inactive the customers but we never purge them.
We execute the AR300 Transaction Purge with just the Transactions Tab populated with the Post Cutoff Dates for all the options.
And yearly scheduling...
