Deploying H5 Scripts under a Role

I created a JS script and now that it works I need to deploy it to a Role

- created the Role and added the users in MNS410/MNS405

- Copied the role(Merge into) from my user under Administration/Personalization/Users to Administration/Personalization/Role

-Cleared Customization cache

-However user under the role are NOT able to access the script.

Have I missed a step, any help is appreciated? This is my first time creating and deploying H5 scripts

Control the Script with:

-1! = ScriptUtil.GetUserContext().Roles.indexOf('YOUR_ROLE')

But if I have to add script to 3 different roles, I wouldn't want to change the script to include each role, I would rather that be handled in the Administration tool.

Is there no way to make it work with the deploy?

What do you mean behind "Cleared Customization cache" ? Just to understand ...

In that case use CUGEX3 table - In MT use XtendM3 (eg. EXTROLE).

Create a Structure of roles valid for a Script - could be n.

Create a lib.js and put that validation inside - With that You can do it for all Your Scripts.

That's the correct way.

What you can do and easily to setup and keep all user security under one screen is to add the script Role to the script arguments and validate against if the user connected to this role in MNS410 or not, this is how I am managing all similar cases

You need to Deploy your Personalization to the Role.

Merge to selected Role

That is the issue, I have added the Role to the list and it shows in the list with the Personalization. It is however not applying for the users under the role once we go to the M3 screen.

Have you added the User to the Role in MNS410 to ensure security is in place?

I have done this several times without any issue.

Do your users have any personal scripts applied to those users?

A users personal customizations will override any role or global personalizaitons and then updates to global or role will not affect a user.

We moved all our scripts to global or roles, deleted all user script personalizations and then deactivated users ability to personalize scripts that so we wouldn't have that problem in the future.

They were 2 roles that the user belonged to, and the script was not working as M3 was applying only the first role(script deployed under second role).According to Infor, M3 chooses the least restrictive role
