Did you know that users with access to the HR Knowledgebase Administration tools can emulate other users' view of your HR Knowledgebase portal?
Viewing the HR Knowledgebase portal as the user sees it is called emulation.
Note:
Only users with the Infor-SystemAdministrator security role in Ming.le can SSO (single sign on) into HRSD via Infor Federation Services (IFS) and access the Knowledgebase Admin menu and tools. All other users that access HRSD via SSO must be level number zero and will not have access to the Knowledgebase Admin tools.
How Groups Affect Users' View
Each user has access to specific content and products on the HR Knowledgebase portal. The groups applied to users' accounts, the content, and products determine what appears in the user's view.
For example:
- The Managers landing page in HR Knowledgebase and the AskHR for Managers module in HR Case Management are assigned the manager group.
- Thus, they only appear to users whose accounts include the manager group.
- They are not visible to users without the manager group.
Reviewing the Site from the User's Point of View
User account access tools appear on the Knowledgebase Admin tool’s Users page which includes the emulation feature.
Note:
The Knowledgebase Admin tools for user accounts apply to all HRSD products, not only HR Knowledgebase.
Steps
1. Log into the HR Knowledgebase portal.
2. In Knowledgebase Admin go to the Users page.
3. On the Users page, bring up the desired user.
4. Then, either:
- Click the head-and-shoulders icon in the Sign In As column; or
- Click User Properties, then click Emulation.
5. The user's view of the site appears. Click one of the following when appropriate to return to the Users page.
- Stop Emulation
- Return to Admin Site
