Is it possible to update the App Menu application order for existing users? I believe new users will get the order configured in the "Admin Settings".
Also, is it possible to lock the order so users get a consistent App Menu?
Updating the Admin Settings > Manage Applications order definitely applies to all users who have NOT re-ordered the application icons within the app switcher waffle themselves.
New users definitely start out with the order you define in Admin Settings > Manage Applications.
In my quick testing this morning, when I re-ordered the application icons in my own waffle, and then made a change in Manage Applications, and did a forcible refresh, I still saw my personal modifications and not the global changes I had made. Once I brought my personal waffle order back in line (manually) with the order defined in Manage Applications (so that, effectively, I no longer had a customized order) then I began to see further Manage Applications changes that I subsequently made thereafter.
There is a checkbox that will lock the first application in place and prevent the user from changing it:
But that only applies to the application in row 1, column 1 (pole position). It would be nice to have a second checkbox option to restrict all changes.
I don't know how to find users who have customized their own application ordering (and consequently how to reset or change theirs).
