Item Master Long Description Best Practice

Hi All,

We are reviewing how we use our longform description field (Description3 in Version 10) as it seems to be a catch-all for the following information:

- Discontinuation
- Sub item information
- Extra Unit of Measures
- Extra long supply descriptions

How do you use your longform description field? If you have any best practices, please feel free to share!

WE use the LONG description for our vendor supplied detailed descripiton and link it to our EPIC interface.  We put discontinued, Sub information or UOM string and misc description if there's room with Sub or Discontiunued notes in Descr 2 and append that to the LONG description for EPIC.
