Hello all,
is there any possibility to call the Office Integration for Excel via VBA code? For example enable the Writeback mode via VBA?
Thank you and best regards,
Eva
Hello Eva,
as of now there is no such way, unfortunately.
To be honest I have it as one of the topics I'd like to cover sooner or later, but the "issue" is that the WebView is sand-boxed and there is no easy way how to enable communication between VBA and Infor d/EPM add-in (except leveraging sheet/custom functions).
Anyway, I'd be really grateful if you could share all your scenarios which need this communication.
Thanks in advance!
V.
Hello Vit,
thanks for the fast reply. I am currently facing the issue that the users often overwrite the Infor Formula in Excel by accident when the Writeback Mode isn't enabled. Is there any best-practice to avoid this issue?
Well, we are going to re-evaluate this Writeback Mode approach as we get mixed feedback.
Some customers really welcome this 'more secure' approach when the user is required to deliberately decide if the writeback/splashing is going to be performed.
On the other hand, there are some customers who complain that it is user unfriendly and they quite often destroy the formulas. In combination with MS issue with Undo not working reliably, this is serious problem.
How big area (number of cells) is being written back? Is it just few or many cells? Can you describe typical scenario? Maybe I'll have some idea for a 'temporary solution' how to handle the writeback.
Hello, we have several reports i.e. for planning project budget with many Infor.get.value formulas. Each of them usually writes back to a single cell (no spreading).
I would be glad to hear about any ideas / workarounds concerning this.
Thank you, Eva
