At INFOR, we value your input on how things should behave in the LMS.
One of our goals is to provide functionality that matches not only expectations but the ability to customize certain features.
One such example is the Event Completion PAST Deadline Event Notification setting found in Add/Edit – Event as shown below
It has come to our attention that the setting, “Send Reminder After Completion deadline until user has satisfied completion criteria (frequency in days)” behavior may be confusing or limited.
The way in which this setting currently works based on the screenshot above is as follows
- User has a deadline of 1/31/2022
- User did not take the course
- On 2/7/2022, the user will receive the First Past Deadline Reminder
- The user will receive another Past Deadline Reminder on 2/14/2022
- This reminder will be resent every 7 days until the user takes the course
A few of our customers have believed that a notification would be sent End of Day or the Day after the Deadline has passed, and then repeated every 7 days. After internal discussions, we would like to modify the behavior or setting to best meet everyone’s needs, and this is where YOU come in.
We have discussed two different ways of addressing the confusion and behavior surrounding this setting.
Option 1: Change the behavior of the Past Completion Deadline reminder.
- Instead of sending the first reminder based on the Frequency (If set to 7 days, first reminder sent 7 days after Completion Deadline), the First reminder would be sent EOD/1 Day After deadline followed by the Frequency that is configured

Option 2: Add a separate option for Past Deadline Reminder to select when the 1st Past deadline reminder is sent, and a separate setting for how often the Past deadline reminder is sent.

In the Example Above, we configured the Past Event Deadline Reminder to send out the first notification 1 Day after the Event Completion Deadline, and resend the reminder every 7 days.
