ION Desk -Connection point- Testing Fails

Hello All,

I am activating the Standard EDI's bod for one customer, they have provided the connection point details to send the outbound document.

I configured the Server details and successfully connected to the server.

after that I configured the Load BOD in the Document section and chose read a file from the folder option and filled all the location details from where the file has to be picked.

While I tested the Document section It gives me an error like (

Message: java.lang.RuntimeException: com.infor.ion.container.common.exception.ServiceContainerException: File write failed to complete transaction for file: '/FR-EEC/Error/validationLocationTest'. Cause : replyCode '551'

I have configured the connection point properly and tested this multiple times but still I am facing same error..

My concern is I chose Read a fie from folder but when the error occurs I can see a file in the Error folder mentioned in the file path. Also this error says that error writing a file to the folder.

Is something I am missing in terms of configuration or what could be the problem?

Can any one suggest please? Any suggestion is appreciated.

The validation does a verify that it can write the archive file. Does the user have permissions to read/ write/ move/ delete files in those FTP paths? FTP file documentation Also consider Create Folders if it applies.

For write scenario there is an option to bypass the testing and deletes/moves.

Also consider that you can:

check the logs in the FTP server itself,
the logs in the Enterprise Connector via AdminUI. The admin UI can be accessed locally on server, or remote via your browser.
Consider testing the same action using a FTP client list FileZilla.

Thanks for your suggestion.

The user has Read/Write permission but not Delete.

Choosing Creating a non-existing folder - I can see a new folder on the server.

Also when I opt to Enable support for the write-only permission, Connection point doesn't allow me to test the configuration.

Anyhow, I ended up with the same error message.

After having Delete permission for the user it is now working as expected.

The Write scenario starts writing a file with .inprogress suffix, then when file write is completed issues a rename to remove the 'inprogress' suffix.

The "Enable for Write only Permissions' is more for scenarios where target partner systems do not want to give the read / rename / delete, only ability to deposit new files. Collisions can occur. The .inprogress suffix is not used and files could be consumed while being written. I am unsure about why this would affect test connection point as I would not expect that. It would affect Test of a Document set with this option as there is not a way to remove the test file written. I will assume you meant the latter.

The test document verification writes a test file and then 'deletes' the file, so delete permission is needed.

Yours is a Read scenario with a Archive action, so the file will be read and moved to the Archive.
