LPL for User Action to Close Form After Initiating Process

We have a user Instance action on a user form. When the user completes the form and clicks on the action to Submit it triggers a process to record data and update some fields. 

As the action is currently configured the form does not refresh/redirect/close out  for the user after the process is initiated.

Is this something that can be achieved with an Exit Rule?

It sounds like when you run the action it does not pop up a dialogue modal, is that correct?  And instance action with an ActionForm should use a pop-up and ok/submit should dismiss the pop-up.
