Use of "generic" (shared), versus "individual" in GHR

Greetings everyone,

I'm excited to be a part of this group.  Wanting to hear what other large business users do using position numbers to organize staffing in a given department.  I've seen both ways, where every FTE has its own position number, all assigned to a single department number; and alternatively, where there is a single position number with 10s, if not more than 100 FTE assigned to a single department.

Would greatly appreciate any thoughts and feedback.

Hi Craig - St. Luke's Health System  (16.5k staff) uses position management to assign multiple resources to a one position # where the Job, Org, and Supervisor info is a match. Leaders and situations when there's just 1 person in a role, they have their own position #. Let me know if you want to chat further.
