Did you know that you can add state and federal labor law posters to your HR Knowledgebase site?
Employers are required to display federal and state labor law posters in a place where all employees can see them.
The following federal agencies and laws require specific workplace notices:
- Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
- Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Minimum Wage
- National Labor Relations Act (NLRA)
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- U.S. Department of Labor
- Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
The required posters can vary as per the nature of the organization’s business and employee type.
For example:
- Federal contractors and subcontractors are required to inform employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).
- Disabled employees have additional rights specific to them.
Specific examples include:
Ensuring Notice Compliance
Most organizations display their required posters in common areas of the workplace such as lunch and locker rooms.
On your Knowledgebase site, providing downloadable copies of labor law posters adds an extra layer of compliance with state and federal requirements.
This strategy works well for:
- Frequent “working lunch” meeting participants
- Oft-travelling employees
- Part-time workers
- Telecommuters
