Packaged learning assignments

Hi all! We are converting from Cornerstone to Infor. Currently, we assign up to 60 distinct development plans to 150 different groups of new hires. In Cornerstone we can create a dynamic batch assignment of a package of development plans but my understanding is that Infor allows for just one development plan or activity per assignment. I am wondering if anyone has come up with a work-around to this constraint? How do you manage your batch learning assignments? Thanks!

We were implementing for another client coming from Cornerstone to Learning and Development. We used Job Streams in Infor to emulate the dynamic assignments in Cornerstone – these are a feature that lets you tie together a number of “Jobs” or actions into a repeatable sequence.

 

First, we set up individual dynamic assignments as Jobs – many of them had their own eligibility groups, but some eligibility groups were shared. These Jobs were instances of the MassAssignLearningActivity, MassAssignDevelopmentPlan, or MassAssignCertificationProgram actions. For example – we have a job that assigns a new hire training development plan to anyone hired in the last 60 days, making due date 90 days from the assigned date.

 

We added all these Jobs in sequence to a Job Stream – a way to kick all 300 jobs off (they will run one after another) with only one action. We then scheduled the Job Stream to run overnight, every night.

 

Essentially, this means that the eligibility group criteria for all assignments is checked nightly when this runs – if someone has transferred, been hired, etc. – if something has changed that makes them now meet the eligibility group requirements – then they are assigned training by the job stream. It will be on their development profile the next morning.
