Supplier grouping/ business chain

I am in need of grouping Suppliers (CRS620) under a chain (similar to the business chain for customers, i need only one level).

As example we have 5 John Crane suppliers in 5 different countries and I would like to have a "field" with a common code in order to run global reports.

1) i noticed the supplier type 3-Group but I do not see how to add the suppliers belonging to that

2) eventually i know that I can use a User defined field to add a common code

Are you using something better?

Is there some good solution?

Hello Elisabetta,

as far as I know the supplier group can be stored in CRS624. The field can be found in panel E. Table:CIDVEN, Field: IICOBI

i just notice there is also the field IICGRP

yes, I have also seen the field IICGRP. But here you would have to check if there is an effect in your PPS170, because according to the field help this field is used for grouping/sorting of purchase order proposals. Unfortunately I can't give you any more detailed info, because we don't use this field.

This make sense to me as well, and I think this would also allow for 'Multi Level Grouping' if necessary.
