Dependent SSN required for ACA reporting
nmessaoudi
Due to the 2015 requirement of forms 1095-B and 1095-C, we need to make Dependent SSN a required field in Employee Self-Service. Has anyone heard whether Infor is adding that functionality and when? We want to start requiring that data sooner rather than later.

Its my understanding that dep ss is not required for the 1095s. If you have made three attempts to collect and do not have it you can use date of birth. It would be a mistake to require it on ESS because the parent does not always get the number within the amount of time they have to add the dependent.

We currently have Dependent SSN set as a required field in ESS. This was a change we made the end of last year. Our employees cannot complete new hire enrollment or open enrollment now without providing their dependent's ssn. If an employee does not have their dependent's ssn yet (i.e. new baby), then our benefits department is able to add the dependent information for them on the HR13.

We are handling exactly the same as Janet. We have it set up as a required field in ESS, but for newborns (and other rare situations), our benefits admin sets up the dependent on HR13.

lellis,
Check what you have set in
webdir/lawson/xhrnet/xml/config/emss_config.xml
You can set to "true"
This can be a step in collecting the data.
Good Luck

From my experience this does not prevent the employee from using a fake SS number such as 222-22-2222 does anyone have any ideas?
