Finding resistance with administrative staff and end users with the terminology of "Growth" that Infor is using for the Learning & Development product. Throughout our organization, as many other Human Resources (HCM) offices we have always used the standard “Training & Development” or “Learning & Development” terminology for employee development activities, fit analysis goals, and work force management strategy. Resistance to change is a strong concern with user adoption of new tech products in our community which we strive to mitigate to the highest degree with keeping to our employees’ best interests. Our employees and community members (external learners) resistance to adopting and using the product is the strongest point of consideration.
It was requested within our organization that we make several customizations product-wide to change the name Growth to Development throughout the Learning & Development web application. However, we are aware that a large scale customization like this that spans nearly all areas of the web application will be time consuming and made product update releases more complicated. This may diminish our ability to adopt product release updates and push enhancements to our end users timely.
I propose to Infor and Infor customers to consider promoting a name/label change throughout Infor HR Talent and Learning & Development from Growth to Development to meet Human Resources (HCM) standard language, promote the strongest degree of end user adoption, and mitigate resistance to change.
Much appreciation for your consideration,
Kara
