We have a question if it would be possible to filter/ignore Planned orders (in MRP) for very low quantities.
For example if an item has still inventory and it drops 1 unit below the safety stock:
on hand = 500
safety stock = 500
order increment = 200
method = Lot by Lot
When having a sales order for 1 item, the inventory will drop to 499
LN will generate a Planned order for 200.
As this is not a real priority yet to order, we would like to postpone until the inventory drops further before ordering the item. A "shortage of 1" should not trigger a new Planned Order yet.
I guess it is up to the planner to decide this but we are wondering how other companies are providing a tool to assist the planner in making this evaluation.
